About me

Hi, my name is Gail Pedrola-Reyes and I've been an Occupational Therapist for over 20 years. I've worked in hospitals, rehabilitation, community heath, special education, kindergartens and in private practice. I've worked in paediatrics for 18 years with a special interest in children with Autism, ADHD and developmental delays. I'm passionate about supporting children and young people to develop their skills and independence to be able to engage in their daily activities and activities that are meaningful to them. I love connecting with children and families through exploring strength and challenges, and developing strategies to support learning and independence. I love looking at areas from a sensory processing, regulation and developmental lens, and trying to understand what is happening from their unique and individual perspective.

More about me

I have been working privately for 13 years and have been running Thrive Occupational Therapy Australia since 2019 after having my children. I was motivated to find a space I could set up a service that was calming, warm and uniquely my style to support my clients and families. I also wanted to run therapy groups and have a sensory gym. I was fortunate enough to open my own clinic at 58 Langs Road, Ascot Vale in 2023. It's been an amazing experience to develop my practice and build a community of therapists in my clinic. Aside from private work, I also work in the School Readiness Funding Program which is a government funded program to support kindergarten educators and families have success in the kinder years. I value working collaboratively with parents, therapists, kindergartens and schools to maximise participation and engagement, and I enjoy being able to support independence in activities that are important to the child and their family in fun and creative ways.
